It’s still a good game, worth playing. Probably 7/10 (5 is average…don’t expect me to rate like the major websites). Not a bad game, just pales in comparison to the 9.9/10 masterpiece that is XC1. If you’re going to play a Xenoblade game and not care about the story though, I’d recommend XCX over XC2.
